Since 2016, Jean-Pierre Corriou is interested by periods in foreign universities, in particular to participate in research projects in process engineering with researchers. He can also provide different courses in the domains of numerical methods, statistical methods, optimization, process control.
From September 12th 2016 to November 26th 2016, Jean-Pierre Corriou was invited professor at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou (China) to teach and participate in research activities in chemical engineering and process control.
From January 5th 2017 to January 15th 2017, Jean-Pierre Corriou was invited professor at South China University of Technology, Guangzhou (China) to teach and participate in research activities in chemical engineering.
From October 15th 2017 to December 15th 2017, Jean-Pierre Corriou was invited professor at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou (China) to teach and participate in research activities in chemical engineering and process control.

From November 6rd 2023 to December 16th 2023, Jean-Pierre Corriou was invited professor at South China University of Technology, Guangzhou (China) to participate in research activities and give lectures in the department of pulp and paper engineering.
From November 2014 to June 2016, Jean-Pierre Corriou was responsible for process simulation in the process design company Ypso-Facto, created at Nancy by R.M. Nicoud, former CEO of Novasep. Ypso-Facto aims in particular at designing and optimizing industrial chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical processes.
His teaching as a professor from 1988 to 2014 concerned applied mathematics at National School of Chemical Industries (ENSIC) , which is one of the engineering schools of the University of Lorraine (UL):

From 1973 to 1988, Jean-Pierre Corriou was assistant-professor at Ecole Centrale de Paris in the department of chemical engineering.
Jean-Pierre CORRIOU performs his research in the research group of Dynamic Optimization and Advanced Control of Laboratory of Reactions and Chemical Engineering (LRGP). LRGP is a mixed CNRS-University of Lorraine Laboratory (UMR 7274).

We are concerned by all questions dealing with non linear issues: development of specific models, possibly reduced models, influence of modelling uncertainty, use of observers for control and diagnostic, consideration of constraints, predictive linear and non linear control of complex processes.
Research on heat and mass transfer in solar distillers and evaporators in collaboration with the group of Sadok Ben JABRALLAH, professor at Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte (Tunisia).
Research on control of distributed parameter systems in collaboration with Ahmed MAIDI, assistant-professor at University of Tizi-Ouzou (Algeria).
Invited professor at University of Western Ontario in 2006 and 2007 (6 weeks). In charge of "Advanced Process Control" for graduate students. Research in collaboration with professor Sohrab ROHANI in cristallization.
Invited professor at Escola Politecnica Da Universidade Federale de Sao Paulo (Brazil) in 2008, 2009, 2010 (3 weeks). In charge of "Advanced Process Control" for Master students. Collaboration with professors Galo Carillo Le ROUX and Darci ODLOAK. Cooperation with Petrobras about state estimation in FCCs.
